Cindy Goes to a Party (1955)
This YAF/Centron at its finest! Cindy, a tomboy unsure of her social status, dreams of a party where her fairy godmother gives her etiquette lessons, and wakes up to receive her very own invitation. Featuring the most unattractive screen mother ever captured on film who prophetically proclaims to her daughter, Cindy, “You’re Cindy, not Cinderella!,” and a completely bizarre fairy-godmother in the most ridiculous Cinderella costume (with a laurel wreath on her head!) who uses her magic wand to flash such profound maxims on walls and building as “Leave on Time” while spewing out one of her many annoying lectures on how to behave at a party. One only wishes she would follow her own advise! An absolute HOOT! Filmed in Lawrence, Kansas.
Note: The following clip was taken directly from the original 16mm print and has been edited to approximately half the film's original length.
