Arachnids, Spiders and Their Allies (1948)

See this film for sale on eBay!
This cool (and creepy) film from United World Science is the closest thing to our modern-day National Geographic and Discovery films we had in the forties. Features everything you could ever want to know in twelve minutes about spiders, ticks, mites, scorpions, and other nasty related species of arachnids! Of special note in the film is a mysterious comment regarding scorpions’ “cone-like pectines” as having an “uncertain function!”: A wonderful (and very creepy-crawly!) up-close and personal cinematography depicting what are arguably the scariest critters on the planet!

The following clip is taken directly from the original 16mm print and has been edited to under half the film's original length.
